Sunward Equipment for Inclined Shafts, Vertical Shafts and Tunnels in Hydropower Projects

HYDROPOWER CONSTRUCTION | SHAFT EQUIPMENT | UNDERGROUND ENGINEERING

Underground work in water conservancy and hydropower projects often involves drilling, muck removal and ground support in confined spaces. Steep inclined shafts, restricted vertical shafts, slopes and tunnels each call for different equipment configurations. Sunward Machine offers integrated inclined-shaft excavation, drilling and support equipment, vertical-shaft excavation and support equipment, multifunctional slope rigs and drilling jumbos for selection according to project conditions.

Coordinating Work in Inclined Shafts

In steep inclined shafts, equipment must accommodate the gradient while meeting drilling, muck removal and ground support requirements. The GSXJ-6000E integrates excavation drilling, muck removal, rock bolting and shotcreting on a single platform to help coordinate these operations.

The machine has a modular design, with an elevated work platform, a multi-degree-of-freedom mucking unit and an adaptive drilling system. Anti-derailment protection, safety monitoring and alarms help protect equipment operation and personnel. Local remote control is supported, with provision for expanded remote operation capabilities.

Limited space in vertical shafts requires drilling, muck removal and ground support to be planned together. The GSSJ-ZB series brings drilling, mucking and rock bolting onto one platform to support mechanized shaft work.

The series uses a modular, standardized design that can be adapted to shaft diameter and depth requirements. Equipment can be lowered in separate modules and assembled inside the shaft. Independent work units, adaptive drilling and automatic drilling functions meet the needs of different shaft operations.

Selecting Rigs for Slopes and Tunnels

Slope support in water conservancy and pumped-storage hydropower projects involves drilling, grouting and anchoring. The GSBP-DZM multifunctional rig combines these functions on one equipment platform and offers different work-unit configurations to suit available space and construction requirements.

For tunnel construction, the GSDT-ZY drilling jumbo series can drill blast holes and rock-bolt holes and assist with related auxiliary work. Alongside the inclined-shaft, vertical-shaft and slope equipment, it covers different operations in underground water conservancy and hydropower construction.

Configuring Equipment for the Project

Geology, excavation cross-sections and work arrangements vary between projects, so equipment configurations need to be selected accordingly. Drawing on its underground equipment R&D and manufacturing capabilities, Sunward Machine provides equipment selection and technical support, with ground-condition adaptation and multifunctional integration informing the configuration for mechanized construction.

Equipment Solutions for Water Conservancy and Hydropower Projects

Sunward provides equipment for inclined-shaft and vertical-shaft excavation, slope drilling, grouting and anchoring, and tunnel drilling. Equipment configurations and technical support are tailored to project geology, excavation dimensions and construction requirements.
